Welcome to Deva Canoe Club

A non-profit organisation run by a group of passionate volunteers who share a common interest in kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Our main aim is to bring people together for fun trips and to encourage them to enjoy our sport. We are proud to be a Paddle UK affiliated club (81596), and we welcome new members all the time, from beginners to experts.

About the club

Deva Canoe Club provides a range of recreational activities throughout the year, including weekly club sessions on the River Dee, weekly pool canoeing, and excursions. Our club has over 170 members, including experienced paddlers who are always willing to help and advise new members.

We offer pool canoeing at Northgate Arena in Chester on Monday and Tuesday evenings during school term time, with Monday sessions staffed by our coaches. From April to September, we run sessions on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons year round at our base on Lower Park Road in Chester, using the River Dee and the Weir, with a wide range of club boats and equipment available for use.

We also organise training sessions, safety courses, and trips to various rivers, lakes, and seas, including Anglesey and the Lake District. The club also has an annual weekend away based in the Lake District.

Membership

We'd love to have you join us at Deva Canoe Club! Membership costs just £15 per year. You can attend up to three sessions as a 'guest' and try out a range of paddle sports, receive free coaching, and equipment advice. Guest sessions cost £7 and include all club equipment (Members pay just £3 per session).
